When you buy a property worth more than ₹50 lakh, the buyer must deduct 1% TDS under Section 194IA.
This TDS on sale of property must be paid using Challan 26QB, and the seller must receive Form 16B, which acts as proof of deduction.

Click Proceed under the tab 26QB – TDS on Property.
In the next steps, you will fill in:
Your personal details (PAN, name, address, email) will be auto-filled.
Review or update them if necessary → Click Continue
Enter the seller’s:

The portal will auto-calculate TDS (1%).
Click Continue.
Select your preferred payment mode:
After payment, a Challan 26QB will be generated—download and save it.
If you are a first-time user, you must register as a Taxpayer on TRACES using:
After registration, you can download Form 16B (TDS Certificate) for the seller.
After 7 days, check your Form 26AS:
Go to Part F → it will show:
Once the payment appears in Form 26AS:
A few hours later:
The password is the buyer’s date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.
Inside the ZIP file, you’ll find Form 16B in PDF format.
Print it and share it with the seller.
